Kris Van Assche is officially reviving his namesake label more than a decade after shuttering it in 2015. Revealed last week in an interview with WWD, the Belgian designer is making his long-awaited return, reintroducing his modern, tailored aesthetic with a conscious approach to production.
In an Instagram post last week, Van Assche shared the news: “After KRISVANASSCHE, Dior and Berluti; after expanding my work into design objects for Serax, bronze sculptures with Downtown Gallery and collaborations with Anta and Fred Perry, it felt like the right moment for a profoundly personal expression of fashion again.”
According to WWD, the forthcoming collection includes “roughly 40 styles,” including “jackets, shirts, trousers, skirts, dresses and knitwear,” across both Men’s and Women’s. Further, Van Assche shared that the “concentrated selection of pieces” would utilize high-quality deadstock fabrics and be produced in smaller quantities.
The Belgian designer originally put his label on pause during his tenure as creative director of Dior Homme from 2007 to 2018. Following Dior, Van Assche succeeded Haider Ackermann at Berluti, where he served as creative director until 2021. Since then, the designer has expanded his breadth with a debut at Milan Design Week 2026, including a Serax collection and a collection of bronze sculptures.
Kris Van Assche’s first collection after the relaunch is expected to arrive on the official Kris Van Assche web store by mid-to-late September.
