Stockholm Surfboard Club and RHC have teamed on “Black Beach,” a special-order capsule that pairs the Swedish label’s surf sensibility with Ron Herman’s clean house style. Built out as one of SSC’s largest assortments to date, the collection spans four core pieces and centers on a detail the brand has never altered before: its signature icon tag, here rendered in navy.
The logos do the design work. The capsule is built around three of the signature logos SSC has carried and preserved over the years, applied piece by piece so that each garment gets the mark best suited to its character rather than a single logo stamped across the range. That approach runs through all four styles, from the cap and back logo tee to the polo shirt and hooded shirt, the latter two representing the kind of pieces that have become popular signatures of SSC in recent seasons.
The headline detail is smaller but more significant. For “Black Beach,” SSC took its emblematic red-based icon tag and switched it to a navy base, creating what the collection frames as a world-first special-order label for the brand. It is a subtle change on paper, but for a label whose red tag functions as a recognition point, reworking it in navy turns an ordinary branding element into the capsule’s defining flourish, finished with close attention to detail.
The lineup itself is compact but considered. It runs across a black Hooded Shirt, a black Polo Shirt, a white Back Logo Tee, and a black Logo Cap, a mostly blacked-out spread that reads directly off the “Black Beach” name. Taken together, the release positions itself as a meeting of Stockholm’s quiet surf culture and RHC’s understated sensibility, framed as a one-season-only capsule rather than a permanent addition.
