The deal expands the international reach of Universal+ and Hayu while extending linear network distribution
YouTube and NBCUniversal announced a multi-year global partnership to bundle Peacock with YouTube Premium starting in early 2027. The integration marks Peacock’s largest wholesale distribution agreement to date. It integrates the streaming service directly into the YouTube experience for over 125 million global Premium and Music subscribers. US members will receive seamless access to Peacock Premium within the YouTube interface. The deal allows viewers to watch live sports and hit series without leaving the platform.
Under the terms of the deal, the standard YouTube Premium price of $15.99 USD per month will remain unchanged when the integration launches. This makes the bundle notably cheaper than subscribing to both services individually. Peacock Premium currently costs $10.99 USD per month for its standalone ad-supported plan. Subscribers will retain existing YouTube Premium features like ad-free viewing, background play and offline downloads while gaining access to NBCUniversal catalogs. The streaming library features blockbuster Universal movies, Bravo reality shows and major sporting events.
Beyond consumer content bundling, the collaboration deepens technical ties between the two companies. The partnership covers advertising technology capabilities and live sports production. NBC Sports will act as a production partner for select premier live sporting events on YouTube. A separate selection of live games from NBCUniversal will stream directly on the NBC Sports YouTube channel to reach millions of users. The deal also extends NBCUniversal’s distribution on YouTube TV to maintain broad linear coverage.
The massive distribution pact arrives at a pivotal time for the streaming industry as rivals increasingly lean into strategic bundles to retain audiences. Peacock recently reported its first quarterly profit and reached 48 million paid subscribers in the United States. Integrating the platform into YouTube gives NBCUniversal a powerful growth engine just as parent company Comcast prepares to spin off its broadband and cable TV assets. For YouTube, adding a premium entertainment service bolsters its strategy of becoming a centralized hub for creator content and live television.
