Capcom has officially expanded the nightmare of Resident Evil Requiem with a surprise post-game DLC titled “Leon Must Die Forever,” introducing a brutal survival mode centered on the franchise’s iconic protagonist.
Released as part of version 1.300.000, this free update caught the community off guard just days after producer Masato Kumazawa subtly hinted that players should finish the main campaign. The mini-DLC introduces a relentless, roguelike challenge where players must navigate 20 distinct stages of increasing difficulty, culminating in an ultimate boss battle against a character named Victor. The trailer showcases Leon S. Kennedy facing overwhelming hordes and limited resources, positioning the mode as the definitive test of endurance for veteran fans.
To survive this chaotic mode, the update introduces several exclusive mechanics, most notably the Enhancer system. This allows Leon to unlock special abilities by defeating enemies to charge a gauge, enabling fast-paced tactical combat that deviates from the main campaign’s traditional balance of action and horror.
Available now across all platforms, the “Leon Must Die Forever” DLC is playable for existing Resident Evil Requiem owners.
