Sean Wotherspoon and Tarmac Works have officially joined forces to deliver a limited collection debuting at the Beijing HEC Hobby Show.
Releasing across two distinct beats, the collaboration channels Wotherspoon’s signature color-blocking aesthetic and lifelong passion for automotive culture into a highly curated drop. At the heart of the project are two specialized art cars: an Audi R8 LMS GT3 and a Nissan GT-R R32. Both vehicles have been completely reimagined through the designer’s iconic lens, fusing bold expression with his deep appreciation for motorsport. Tarmac Works, a Hong Kong-founded brand known for its premium, collector-grade replicas, provided the ideal platform for these small-scale masterpieces.
Bringing the collaboration to life beyond the display case, the extensive collection also features an exclusive series of trading cards. The drop is further rounded out by an apparel and accessories capsule that includes a hoodie, T-shirt, and a hat. Additionally, fans can purchase standalone pins honoring both the Audi R8 and Nissan GTR models.
“Blending the worlds of cars and art has always meant so much to me. I’ve been waiting for the opportunity to give everyone the chance to own one. We wanted to drop this project in Beijing because some of the biggest car collectors in the world are there. I love traveling and visiting China, and after a few years since our last release there, I wanted to bring something fun back,” Wotherspoon said in a statement.
Felix Kwong, Founder and Creator of Tarmac Works, added, “I have been following Sean’s work for quite some time and have always loved his use of colors and patch work on his various projects with Porsche, as well as his highly sought after Nike Air Max 1/97. Therefore it was amazing to have Sean design a couple of model cars for us!”
The Sean Wotherspoon x Tarmac Works Audi R8 LMS GT3 art car, trading card series, apparel, and pin launch exclusively in-person at the Beijing HEC Hobby Show (Booth 5U17) from April 17 to April 19, followed by an online release will follow exclusively via the Tarmac Works webstore on May 12. Stay tuned for the Nissan GT-R R32 art car’s release details.
