Tired of early internet leaks ruining the surprise, Ja Morant has decided to take control of his own sneaker narrative. The Memphis Grizzlies superstar recently took to Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) to officially unveil his fourth signature basketball shoe, the Nike Ja 4. Bypassing a traditional glossy press release from the Swoosh, the point guard shared a series of close-up shots and a lineup of five vibrant colorways, giving fans a comprehensive first look at the highly anticipated performance silhouette.
A noticeable departure from the heavily branded Ja 3, the new Nike Ja 4 adopts a sleeker, more streamlined aesthetic that many fans quickly compared to a modern soccer boot. The shoe features a one-piece, diamond-patterned textured upper and an inverted Swoosh aggressively positioned toward the heel. Adding a clever personalized touch, the midfoot reinforcement seamlessly spells out the player’s initials, pairing a jeweled Swoosh for the “J” with an “A” built directly into the side paneling.
Morant’s social media dump highlighted five distinct, eye-catching colorways, including a navy base with soft green accents, an aqua and red mix, a bright fuchsia highlighted with gold, a deep blue variation, and a subdued black model with marbled details. While official technical specifications have not yet been announced by Nike, early reports suggest the sneaker will utilize a Cushlon 3.0 foam midsole paired with a ZoomX insole and improved carbon fiber support for maximum lightweight responsiveness on the court.
Notably, the Ja 4 line is also expected to introduce the very first high-top version of Morant’s signature shoe. Industry leaks indicate the high-top variant will feature a laceless, mesh-covered design, adding a premium, lockdown-focused option to the collection.
As Morant prepares for a fresh start in the upcoming 2026-2027 NBA season, his signature footwear line remains one of the most popular in the Nike Basketball roster. The standard low-top Nike Ja 4 is expected to hit retailers in Fall 2026 for $130 to $140 USD, while the high-top editions are slated for a Holiday 2026 release at a premium $180 USD price point.
