Maserati and the Swiss maison Bianchet have announced a prestigious collaboration to unveil the UltraFino Maserati. This flying tourbillon timepiece celebrates the centenary of the iconic Maserati Trident emblem, which first appeared on the victorious Tipo 26 in 1926. Unveiled at the Watches and Wonders 2026 in Geneva, the watch serves as a meeting point for Maserati’s racing performance and Bianchet’s rigorous adherence to Swiss haute horlogerie standards.
The design is deeply influenced by the Maserati MCPURA, the brand’s latest 630-hp supercar. Parallels between the two are found in the watch’s open-worked skeleton dial, which mirrors the MCPURA’s “birdcage” wheel architecture, and the signature AI Aqua Rainbow finish used as an accent along the rubber seam of the case. Structurally, the high-density carbon case and grade 5 titanium bridges reflect the torsional stiffness of the car’s carbon-fiber monocoque, while the suspended flying tourbillon cage evokes the “beating heart” of the Nettuno V6 engine.
The partnership brings together Maserati’s century‑long pursuit of Italian performance and Bianchet’s Golden Ratio‑driven approach to haute horlogerie, resulting in a flying tourbillon that embodies “a perfect balance between form and function,” as the document notes. Limited to 100 individually numbered pieces, the watch serves as a symbolic meeting point between two maisons that share a commitment to uncompromising engineering and aesthetic purity.
Drawing inspiration from the Maserati MCPURA supercar, the UltraFino Maserati mirrors the vehicle’s lightweight construction, carbon‑fibre architecture and prismatic AI Aqua Rainbow finish. Its open‑worked skeleton dial echoes the MCPURA’s birdcage wheel design, forming a subtle trident motif, while the grade 5 titanium bridges and high‑density carbon case parallel the car’s torsional rigidity. The document highlights that the watch integrates dedicated shock‑absorbing solutions capable of withstanding 5,000 G, a direct horological analogue to the MCPURA’s suspension and traction‑management engineering.
At the heart of the watch is Bianchet’s UT01 caliber, a hand‑finished flying tourbillon movement just 3.85 mm thick. The movement’s architecture includes a suspended mainspring barrel to save vertical space, a 2.66‑mm titanium tourbillon cage, and a bespoke winding system designed to reduce friction. Every bridge, plate and cage is hand‑bevelled, sand‑blasted, satin‑brushed and polished, contributing to a total case height of 9.9 mm and a weight of 36 g without the strap. The watch offers a 60‑hour power reserve, glare‑proof sapphire crystals on both sides and water resistance to 5 ATM.
The UltraFino Maserati is delivered with two strap options – an integrated high‑density carbon‑fibre bracelet and a natural vulcanised rubber strap with a titanium folding clasp – each reflecting the piece’s fusion of performance and refinement. The edition is limited to 100 pieces, produced at Bianchet’s La Chaux‑de‑Fonds atelier to the brand’s standards of hand‑finishing and precision.
