Kering Eyewear and Maison Valentino Just Turned NYC Into a Carnival for Its Eyewear Debut
The setting, developed around a dreamlike merry-go-round, added excitement to the new eyewear designs.
On March 25, Kering Eyewear and Maison Valentino ushered in the Spring season with a soirée. In true Valentino fashion, opulence was balanced with equal parts whimsy as the two brands welcomed guests into an immersive carnival-style party. As guests parted velvet curtains inside of The Shed, the exclusive celebration was complete with mirror mazes and photo booths so attendees could capture the moment. It was a large-scale spectacle fit for a first-of-its-kind collection: Kering Eyewear and Maison Valentino’s debut eyewear range.
The Spring/Summer 2026 collection draws from the Maison’s Haute Couture legacy, reinterpreting key brand motifs such as the Valentino Garavani Vain bag, the use of archival striped prints and Valentino’s signature red hue. The collection showcases the house’s classic “Vlogo,” first introduced in 1968. Now, it appears subtly laser-etched onto metal frames, embedded beneath lacquer finishes or cut directly into acetate temples. Cat eye, studded oval, and slim, low-profile shapes give the range a sense of variety and play upon Valentino’s ornamental style codes.
At the celebration, the various frames were scattered across the makeshift fairgrounds, providing guests with the perfect opportunity to accessorize their looks. In between photo moments and a lively DJ set by Mark Ronson, attendees mingled and enjoyed the atmosphere. Notable appearances included Hari Nef, Bambi Northwood-Blyth, Julia Nobis, Izzi Allain, Ella Emhoff, Hillary Taymour, Miles Greenberg, Tanner Reese, Young Emperors and more.
