Nike is finally bringing history to the masses with the first-ever general release of the iconic Nike Moon Shoe.
Following a high-fashion revival by French label Jacquemus, the Swoosh is now officially moving the sneaker into its lifestyle catalog. Arriving shortly after a promotional campaign featuring Olympic superstar Alysa Liu, this upcoming in-line drop acts as a faithful reconstruction of the vintage silhouette. Following early looks at two-tone white/black and white/crimson iterations equipped with gum soles, Nike is debuting three fresh colorways designed specifically for the spring season. A clean navy and white makeup joins a vibrant yellow and white option, while a pristine triple white pair rounds out the pack, injecting pure vintage energy into the bare-bones aesthetic.
Originally constructed in 1971 when the brand was still operating as Blue Ribbon Sports, the legendary waffle-pressed runner has remained one of the most elusive footwear designs in the sportswear giant’s archive. Having never seen a proper release during the 1970s, the model served as the crucial foundational inspiration for debut track shoes like the Oregon Waffle and the smash-hit Waffle Trainer.
The Nike Moon Shoe drops April 3 via Nike SNKRS, followed by a wider release on the Nike webstore on May 7.
