BTS’ ‘ARIRANG’ Debuts at No. 1 on Billboard 200

BTS is opening this week’s Billboard 200 at No. 1 with ARIRANG.
The K-pop staple’s comeback album earns a total of 641,000 equivalent album units in its first week, including a whopping 532,000 in pure album sales, 95,000 in streaming equivalent album units (99.10 million on-demand streams of the songs) and the remaining in track equivalent album units. ARIRANG marks the biggest week for any album since Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl, and is also the biggest sales week for any album since. BTS has set a new record for the biggest week for any album by a group since the Billboard 200 started ranking equivalent album units in December 2014.
Also appearing this week is Luke Combs at No. 2 with The Way I Am. The record earns 101,000 equivalent album units in its first week, including 76,000 in streaming equivalent album units, 23,000 in album sales, and the rest in track equivalent album units.
Making up the rest of this week’s top 10 are Morgan Wallen, Harry Styles, Don Toliver, Olivia Dean, Bad Bunny, Bruno Mars, Wallen again and the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack from Nos. 3 to 10, respectively.
