Apple has officially announced the iPhone 17e, introducing a powerful yet accessible addition to the broader iPhone 17 family. Set for a global rollout, the new handset brings core flagship elements to a lower price point without sacrificing everyday performance.
At the center of the device is Apple’s latest-generation A19 chip, built on advanced 3-nanometer technology. This faster, more efficient 6-core CPU is paired with a 4-core GPU and an upgraded 16-core Neural Engine, designed to seamlessly handle console-level gaming and demanding Apple Intelligence capabilities. The brand also integrates its new C1X cellular modem, which delivers up to twice the speed of previous iterations while significantly improving battery efficiency.
Aesthetically, the phone features a lightweight, aerospace-grade aluminum chassis with an IP68 rating for splash, water, and dust resistance. The 6.1-inch OLED Super Retina XDR display peaks at 1200 nits of HDR brightness and is protected by Ceramic Shield 2, promising vastly improved scratch resistance and reduced glare. For photography, the 48MP Fusion camera acts as a dual-lens system, offering optical-quality 2x Telephoto capabilities, next-generation portrait support, and the ability to shoot 4K Dolby Vision video. Additional quality-of-life updates include a customizable Action button, Face ID, USB-C fast charging, and full MagSafe compatibility.
The Apple iPhone 17e drops March 11 via Apple and select global carriers, following a pre-order phase that begins on March 4.
