Tottenham Hotspur and Nike Reveal Commemorative Retro Shirt
With a special edition design honoring 125 years since the football team’s notable FA Cup win.
English football team Tottenham Hotspur has teamed up with Nike on a special edition shirt commemorating its 1901 FA Cup win – a landmark victory that, to this day, remains the only time a non-league club has won the competition.
Set to debut during tomorrow’s game, the long-sleeved shirt presents a retro look reminiscent of the kit worn by the team 125 years ago. On a pared-back base, it features the shirt sponsor and Nike logo in its signature “Lilywhite” tone with no names or additional graphics except the number visible on the back making for a must-have collector’s piece for every avid fan.
“To mark 125 years since our groundbreaking FA Cup success in 1901, we want to bring what remains a historic achievement to the forefront of popular culture with what is a truly beautiful shirt, delivered in collaboration with Nike,” shared Merchandise and Licensing Director Duncan Pass in an official statement. “Seeing the team step onto the pitch wearing a shirt inspired by the heroes of yesteryear is sure to capture the imagination of fans young and old.”
To support the launch, Tottenham Hotspur rounds up teammates Djed Spence, Richarlison, Micky van de Ven and Mohammed Kudus to star in a striking campaign, which follows the creation of a shirt sculpture by Alasdair Thomson. As well as promoting the new garment, the visuals, set in Thomson’s Edinburgh studio, marks the start of the team’s wider FA Cup campaign this season.
Get your hands on the new Tottenham Hotspur retro shirt from 9 am GMT on Jan 10, dropping exclusively online at Spurs Retail Shop in a limited run of 1,901 pieces.
