Stone Island has unveiled an exclusive capsule collection to commemorate the Lunar New Year, specifically honoring the “Year of the Horse.” Naturally, the collection draws inspiration from the horse as a symbol of perseverance and transformation, expressed through a palette of dark brown and gold hues, colors traditionally associated with prosperity and good fortune.
Shot in Hu Zhou with actor and equestrian Ethan Juan as the campaign’s face, the collection emphasizes both technical innovation and cultural storytelling, reinforcing Stone Island’s reputation for merging performance fabrics with symbolic design. The centerpieces of the collection utilize Stone Island’s signature “Nylon Metal Colour Weft,” a fabric renowned for its distinct metallic and iridescent finish.
One if the key standout item fromthe range is the stand collar jacket, which features a complex trilobate structure of nylon yarns combined with a colored polyester weft and a white warp. Through the brand’s specialized garment-dyeing process, only the nylon fibers absorb the pigment, while the polyester weft retains its original hue. This meticulous technique results in a striking chromatic iridescence that changes appearance depending on the light and movement of the wearer.
The capsule extends beyond outerwear to include jogger trousers, T-shirts, caps and sling bags, all crafted in Nylon Metal with the same iridescent treatment.
