Summary
- MB&F unveils the LM Sequential Flyback EVO, adding a flyback function to its award-winning chronograph
- Designed by Stephen McDonnell, the 621-component movement includes the Twinverter binary switch for five timing modes and a FlexRing shock-protection system
MB&F elevates its award-winning chronograph collection with a new Legacy Machine Sequential Flyback EVO timepiece. This new edition brings the highly anticipated flyback function to the robust EVO lineup, housed in a grade 5 titanium case with a vibrant aquamarine dial plate.
Conceived by master watchmaker Stephen McDonnell, the movement builds upon the 2022 GPHG “Aiguille d’Or” winner by incorporating five patented elements, including a revolutionary jeweled roller system that minimizes friction during the rapid reset-to-zero sequence. The timepiece retains the innovative “Twinverter” binary switch at the 9 o’clock position, allowing the wearer to invert the start/stop status of two independent chronographs simultaneously. This fifth pusher enables multiple sophisticated timing modes, such as independent, split-second, cumulative, and lap-timer functions.
For the first time in the EVO collection, the displays also feature an inclined time dial at 6 o’clock for improved legibility, while the NAC-finished movement bridges are visible through a domed sapphire crystal that replaces a traditional bezel for an unobstructed view.
Designed for a dynamic lifestyle, the LM Sequential Flyback EVO includes standard “EVO” upgrades: 80-meter water resistance, a screw-down crown, an integrated rubber strap and the proprietary FlexRing shock-absorption system. The manual-winding engine comprises 621 components and offers a 72-hour power reserve across its three-day span.
While MB&F operates as a “concept laboratory” producing small series, this technical masterpiece carries a retail price of 188,000 CHF (approx. $236,536 USD), excluding taxes. For more information, head over to the brand’s official website.
