Vacheron Constantin has unveiled the Métiers d’Art Tribute to the Celestial collection, a series of 12 exquisite timepieces that celebrate the Western zodiac. Each reference is dedicated to a specific astrological sign and its constellation, illustrated in hand-guilloché on a deep blue dial punctuated by brilliant-cut diamond stars. Encased in 39mm of 18K white gold and framed by 96 baguette-cut blue sapphires, the watches evoke the mystery and elegance of the night sky.
The dials are constructed through an intricate eight-step process, beginning with sunburst finishing and constellation mapping, followed by guilloché engraving, diamond setting and the application of the Maison’s Maltese Cross emblem. Each zodiac depiction requires approximately 16 hours of meticulous guilloché work — a figurative technique developed in-house that transforms geometric engraving into expressive celestial imagery. Among the 12 references, the signs representing human figures – Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Aquarius – feature subtle opaline accents, enhancing the visual depth of their forms.
At the heart of each watch lies the ultra-thin self-winding Calibre 2160 tourbillon movement, operating at 18,000 vph with 80 hours of power reserve. Its 22K gold peripheral rotor allows an unobstructed view of the movement’s refined finishing.
