Summary

  • Mattel releases SDCC-exclusive Jurassic World “Convention Crasher” T. rex set for $85 USD
  • Includes Buck T. rex with glass eyes, posable tongue and super fan figure in T. rex costume
  • Available July 24; limited to two per customer, packaged in ’90s-style collectible box

Mattel is crashing San Diego Comic-Con 2025 with a special-edition Jurassic World collectible: the Hammond Collection Tyrannosaurus Rex “Convention Crasher.” Inspired by The Lost World: Jurassic Park’s memorable T. rex rampage through San Diego, this exclusive release imagines the Buck T. rex storming Comic-Con and encountering a costumed superfan along the way.

The highly detailed figure features glass eyes, proportionate feet, a posable rubber tongue and stands 9.72 inches tall and 24.35 inches long. It’s joined by a 5.72-inch superfan figure dressed in an “inflatable” T. rex costume, complete with two swappable heads.

Adding to the collectible charm are a mini version of the T. rex figure, a Jurassic Park tote bag, convention merch and a fabric banner parodying the iconic “When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth” signage. The packaging itself is part of the experience: the outer box pays tribute to late-’90s tech aesthetics, while the inner box recreates the San Diego Convention Center in diorama form.

The Convention Crasher set launches July 24 for $85 USD via Mattel Creations, with a limit of two per customer.
