Update: The New Balance 204L is poised to be one of the brand’s breakout models this year. Its initial preview captured the attention of many and its collaborative involvement features the aforementioned Kith project that will debut the model this week, as well as AURALEE and Basketcase campaigns. At last, we now have official in-line launch information for the shoe, with New Balance hosting its launch on July 30 at a starting price of $110 USD.
Update: New Balance has been busy with several new silhouettes this year, including the football-inspired 204L sneaker that we first previewed below two months ago. Now, after a Kith collaboration featuring the shoe leaked at the end of April, we have a complete look at what to expect from the New Balance 204L. Its lead “Mushroom” colorway pictured here sees a brown suede upper adorned with curved overlays and the label’s classic “N” branding at the midfoot. Touches of off-white are scattered throughout, including at the laces and lining, while the textured outsole favors a dark green. Release details remain uncertain, however, it’s likely to debut soon via New Balance and select retailers so stay tuned for additional updates.
Original Story: A new sneaker silhouette is on the way and it is inspired by indoor soccer shoes. The New Balance 204L has surfaced, giving fans a first look at the suede-covered soccer sneaker.
The shoe takes on retro aesthetics, with suede earthy toned upper. The thin-soled sneaker is paired down and features a multi-layered tan hue throughout. The thinner-than-expected sole is for those who have always enjoyed the indoor soccer aesthetic. The shoe’s big “N” logo on the lateral is also in the same earthy tone and highlighted in reflective material. The 204L branding is seen on the heel while the tongue tag receives a vintage look. While there has not been a confirmed release date, rumors point towards the fall of this year for this soccer DNA-inspired shoe.
