adidas is set to debut a new sneaker silhouette: the adiZero Goukana. Blending the brand’s rich performance heritage with the vibrant energy of contemporary street culture, this new silhouette draws inspiration from the 2008 Adios Neftenga prototype — a model that was brought back through a collaboration with Wales Bonner last fall. The Goukana pays homage to its Japanese roots – its name meaning “luxurious and plush” – and to Toshiaki Omori, the visionary behind the original adiZero series.

Though designed for lifestyle rather than competition, the Goukana packs genuine performance tech. Its Lightstrike cushioning, borrowed from adidas’s marathon-and basketball-winning models, delivers feather-light responsiveness and all-day comfort. A premium upper of suede, breathable mesh and reflective silver synthetics is drenched in a vivid yellow that nods both to the Neftenga’s debut palette and to high-octane racing culture. A pronounced, bulbous midsole tailored for the era’s looser silhouettes completes the look.
