PGA TOUR, Creators at Odds Over LIV Golf Event

The PGA TOUR threatened six creators competing in a YouTube match with rival tour LIV Golf with future sanctions. Multiple sources confirmed this developing story to Hypegolf which was originally reported on X by Flushing It.
The creator group, which includes Grant Horvat, Luke Kwon, Rick Shiels, the Bryan Bros, and Fat Perez, pushed back against this threat. Consequently, the TOUR withdrew its stance, though Wesley Bryan’s ban remains intact due to his limited TOUR status.
LIV Golf’s The Duels, similar to the PGA TOUR’s Creator Classic which appeared most recently at the 2025 PLAYERS Championship, assembles prominent YouTube golf personalities for a friendly competition. However, a key difference lies in The Duels’ pairing of professionals with creators and its decision to produce a 90-minute edited version rather than livestreaming the event.
Notably, five of the six players competing in this weekend’s Duels also participated in previous iterations of the Creator Classic. This situation raises questions about the future of the Creator Classic and what it would look like without the likes of Horvat, Perez, Kwon and others. Meanwhile, fans continue to debate whether the PGA TOUR was justified in demanding loyalty from the creators.
