Noir Kei Ninomiya's Bioluminescent FW25 Daydream
The cult-favorite designer celebrated 10 years of fashion shows with a delightful collection of sculptural curiosities.

COMME Day—the sacred event of every Paris Fashion Week that gets the industry up and running before 10 am. The golden trifecta spans the entire day: Junya Watanabe in the morning and Noir Kei Ninomiya in the afternoon topped off by COMME des GARÇONS in the early evening.
For the Fall/Winter 2025 runway, Noir Kei Ninomiya had the pleasure of celebrating its tenth fashion show anniversary. Always dreamy and deluxe, the collection explored the Japanese designer’s affinity for extravagant textures.
The show opened in a dark room flooded with blue light. The first few models paraded down the runway in bioluminescent sculptures resembling crystallized anemones. Each piece consisted of intricately hand-shaped resin tendrils that reflected the light as if on the ocean’s floor. As the lights came on, the crystalline armor transformed into more gothic underwater companions. An oversized poncho and dress made of gathered orbs closely resembled prickly sea urchins.
Across each model, 3D-printed headpieces formed sculptural and windswept wig-like fascinators. Further on in the collection, textures and colors brightened. Puffy plush bows, woven multicolored yarns, and rainbow growths adorned each body culminating in a delightful and signature Ninomiya runway experience.
