PUMA is continuing its hot streak. The footwear heavyweight is teaming up with New York City-based designer LaQuan Smith for a second time, this go-around presenting a range of apparel and footwear that lifts inspiration from the boxing ring.
Designed to emulate the “energy and dynamism of the boxing world,” the sophomore collab from the unit comes carried by two new PUMA Speedcat silhouettes. Rather than embodying the sneaker’s racetrack-ready structure, the signature PUMA joints are reimagined for the ring, with the high-top PUMA x LaQuan Speedcat Mid landing in a striking red and black colorway complete with lacing up the calf.
Complementing the sneakers, the pair offers up an array of boxing apparel as well, similarly dominated by the sneakers’ red and black colorway. PUMA and Smith deliver pairs of tear-away pants, along with cropped jackets and boxing shorts – the latter of which comes elevated with satin finishes and studded graphics.
