Han Solo’s Original 'Star Wars' Blaster Could Be Yours for a Few Million
As it heads to auction this June.
One of the most legendary props in cinematic history — Han Solo’s blaster from Star Wars: Episode IV:A New Hope — is set to hit the auction block this June. Offered through Studio Auctions and Goldin Auctions, the iconic DL-44 blaster is expected to fetch as much as $3,000,000 USD.
This piece of Star Wars history is believed to be the only fully intact blaster from the 1977 film to have survived production. Designed by set decorator Roger Christian, the weapon was crafted to give Harrison Ford’s smuggler-turned-hero a gunslinger aesthetic inspired by classic Westerns.
Previously, another Han Solo blaster was auctioned for over $1,000,000 USD, though that example was reconstructed from spare parts years after filming. This newly surfaced version, however, has been authenticated as original and complete, making it an even rarer collector’s item.
The blaster is set to be auctioned this June, with Goldin stating that more details will be shared on March 26.
