Uniqlo Celebrates 45 Years of ‘Mobile Suit Gundam’ With New UT Collection
Starring visuals from ‘The Witch from Mercury,’ ‘Gundam SEED,’ ‘Gundam SEED Freedom’ as well as the OG series.
This spring, Uniqlo will release a Mobile Suit Gundam UT collection, celebrating the franchise’s 45th anniversary. Set to release in April, the limited T-shirt range features four distinct styles, each starring a full-color graphic imprint from a different Gundam series.
Set against a white cotton build, one design features a key visual from The Witch from Mercury on its front, while Suletta’s motto, “If you run, you gain one. If you move forward, you gain two,” graces the back.
Elsewhere, Kira Yamato’s three Gundam units from Gundam SEED as well as the 2024 film, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom are spotlighted: Freedom, Strike Freedom and the Strike Freedom Gundam Type II. The three units are emblazoned in three cinematic still frames on the back, while their unique unit number is shown in small print on the front of the black T-shirt.
Two other T-shirts are dedicated to fans of the OG Mobile Suit Gundam series. The black variant stars a large graphic imprint on the front, where the RX-77-2 Guncannon, RV-78-2 Gundam and RX-75-4 Guntank are shown against a Char Aznable’s looming Red Comet MS-06S Zaku II. Last but not least, die-hard fans can look to the 45th-anniversary edition white T-shirt, which stars an assembly of 8 iconic Gundam units.
The assortment of Mobile Suit Gundam T-shirts are all priced at ¥1,500 JPY (approx. $10 USD) and will be available to shop via Uniqlo in mid-April.
