Jackson Wang has unveiled the first visual from his highly anticipated album, MAGIC MAN 2, with the release of the cinematic music video for “High Alone.” As the sequel to his 2022 chart-topping album MAGIC MAN, this new project dives even deeper into his artistic evolution and personal journey.

“High Alone” offers a haunting portrayal of solitude and self-destruction, setting the emotional tone for MAGIC MAN 2. The music video vividly brings Wang’s internal struggles to life, depicting an audience watching him drown for their entertainment – only to leave the moment his suffering ends, highlighting themes of isolation and the fleeting nature of attention.

Wang originally created MAGIC MAN as a way to process his pain, using it as a mask to channel his darkest emotions. As that chapter closed, he was forced to confront the harsh realities of life, leading him into a mentally and physically challenging period. Writing in his diary became his only outlet and for the first time, he poured his personal experiences directly into his music. MAGIC MAN 2 stands as a testament to his journey of self-discovery — embracing both the highs and lows while staying true to himself.

“High Alone” marks the beginning of Wang’s MAGIC MAN 2 era, with more music and visuals set to roll out throughout 2025. The full album, expected to drop this summer, will unfold in four distinct chapters exploring grief, identity and self-acceptance.
