Official images have been revealed for the Nike Air Force 1 Low “Doernbecher,” another silhouette from the Freestyle 21 Collection. The pair is the creation of 10-year-old patient Oli Fason-Lancaster, who previously had an exclusive Chipotle x Nike Air Force 1 made for him. In this wider release, Oli continues to incorporate his passion for food into his sneakers’ design.
Unlike some of the louder designs in the Freestyle 21 Collection, this Air Force 1 features a subtle sail-white upper. A notable design element is the kaleidoscopic, translucent tones on the outsole, which were inspired by the rainbows Oli frequently painted as a symbol of hope for him and his family during his cancer treatment. Adding a deeply personal detail, the usual lace dubrae is repositioned onto the tongue, displaying the number “572” to commemorate the number of laps he completed during treatment. Oli’s passion for food is also evident with customized spoons, forks and spatulas cleverly integrated into the Swoosh. Furthermore, the midsole is dotted with a variety of vegetables, reflecting his love for a healthy diet.
