Seiko has unveiled the C038 EVA-01 Diver’s Watch Limited Edition, a collaboration with the legendary Neon Genesis Evangelion. As a part of the “RADIO EVA THE 30” project, celebrating the iconic anime franchise’s 30th anniversary. This collaboration also marks the first time a Seiko diver watch features a design inspired by the EVA Unit-01.
Measuring 45mm in case diameter, the watch is housed in a stainless steel build and features a striking two-tone green and purple color scheme that immediately identifies it with the iconic mecha. In a nod to the series, the dial is decorated with a honeycomb pattern evocative of the world of Evangelion, while the 12 o’clock marker and decorative elements at 2 and 10 o’clock are modeled after the Unit-01’s face and chest plating.
Another distinctive feature of this collaborative timepiece is, of course, its custom-molded central second hand, which takes the form of the Spear of Longinus in all its glory. This deep red spear serves as a bold functional element that sweeps across the dial, a detail designed to “pierce the hearts” of dedicated fans.
Built for both everyday use and active sports, the watch is fitted with a durable black silicon strap. Technically, it is a robust professional tool, featuring 200m diver’s water resistance and powered by the reliable Seiko Caliber 4R36 mechanical automatic movement, complete with 41-hour power reserve and a day-date calendar function. The hands and indices are also treated with LumiBrite for visibility in low-light conditions.
Limited to 300 pieces worldwide, the watch is scheduled for release in early March 2026, retailing at ¥132,000 JPY (approx. $847 USD) through the official EVA webstore.
