Acura has officially announced the return of the RSX nameplate, marking a new era for the brand as it unveils its first electric vehicle (EV) built on Honda’s EV platform. Inspired by the Acura Performance EV Concept, the all-electric Acura RSX presents itself as a sleek, coupe-like silhouette with modern tech.

The RSX will debut Honda’s proprietary ASIMO OS operating system, first introduced at CES 2025 and will be the inaugural EV to roll off the production line at the Honda EV Hub in Ohio. This state-of-the-art facility, currently undergoing extensive retooling, aims to set a global standard for environmentally responsible and flexible manufacturing, producing internal combustion, hybrid and battery electric vehicles on the same line.

Real-world testing of the RSX prototype began this week, with vehicles sporting a striking camouflage designed by the Acura Design team. The dynamic wrap highlights the SUV’s profile, designed to symbolize power, calmness and innovation.

“The RSX nameplate returns with our next-generation EV, capturing Acura’s commitment to a fun-to-drive future,” said Mike Langel, assistant vice president of Acura National Sales. “As our second all-electric SUV, it complements our gas-powered lineup and solidifies Acura’s role as a destination brand.”

This spring, Acura will further expand its SUV offerings with the 2025 ADX, a premium compact SUV featuring a turbocharged engine designed to attract new buyers. Details on pricing and availability for both of these new models have not yet been revealed at the time of writing.
