J Balvin Unveils First Ever G-Shock Collaboration
Arriving as a G-Shock DWE-5600JB-1A9 “Time Matters” box set collaboration.
J Balvin and Casio G-Shock are officially joining forces to release a collaborative box set. The Colombian artist and lifelong G-Shock fan is venturing into the world of horology with his first-ever collaboration with G-Shock. The collaboration marks the first collaboration between the Latin artist and the watch brand.
Balvin is dropping a limited box set collection of the G-Shock DWE5600 series. Title “Time Matters,” the box set features the watch in black bezel and band set that is interchangeable with the translucent matte yellow bezel and band. On the face of the watch reads the text “Ma’ G,” his single from the album JOSE. The J Balvin music motifs continue with his lightning logo on the band which came from his second album Energía which released in 2016. The same lightning bolts are seen as cutout shapes on the band keepers, as well as engraved on the stainless steel case back as a part of Balvin’s smiley face logo that comes along with his name. Additional Spanish text as the button labels are written in J Balvin’s handwriting, marking the first time G-Shock has included the language on their watches.
The original DWE-5600 watch is constructed with a Carbon Core Guard case for durability and is expected to be priced around $230 USD. So far, the release date has not been revealed but expect it to drop worldwide.
