New Balance is resurrecting a forgotten classic from its archives, re-releasing the New Balance Numeric 770 as a modern-day skate shoe. Originally conceived as a cross-trainer in the 1990s, the 770 has been rebuilt from the ground up to handle the demands of skateboarding, blending its vintage aesthetic with new performance technology.
The new model will be available in two distinct colorways, each highlighting the shoe’s premium construction. The “Black/Grey” offers a sleek, monochromatic look with a black nubuck and suede upper contrasted by grey accents, while the “Grey/Purple-Black” provides a bolder, more dynamic feel. The latter features a grey suede base with muted green hits and pops of purple on the branding and heel. Both versions are built for skate utility, with double-layer reinforcement on the toe cap and a supportive heel frame for added durability and protection.
