Renault Introduces the Estafette: an EV Van Designed for Urban Environments
A compact concept vehicle designed with affordability and utility in mind.
Renault has introduced the Estafette Concept, a revolutionary all-electric van designed to meet the needs of modern urban professionals. This vehicle represents Renault’s vision for the future of utility vehicles, designed specifically for “last-mile” logistics in increasingly congested and regulated city environments.
Drawing inspiration from the iconic 1959 Estafette, the new concept combines practicality, agility and innovation. It is compact yet spacious, blending the dimensions of the Kangoo L2 with the load capacity of the Trafic L1H2, while offering the maneuverability of a Clio. Designed in collaboration with professional drivers, it aims to streamline operations, improve safety and enhance overall efficiency.
A key feature of the Estafette Concept is its use of the FlexEVan platform developed by Renault’s new venture, Flexis, in partnership with Volvo and CMA CGM Group. This platform integrates Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) architecture, enabling real-time updates and predictive maintenance, which can lower operating costs by 30 percent.
The Estafette Concept is expected to enter production within the next two years, with price and regional availability yet to be announced at the time of writing.
