MillerKnoll Opens the Doors to its First-Ever London Location

It’s quite hard to believe that MillerKnoll didn’t have a London outpost until today. But of late, become an important strategy for the brand collective, which includes the likes of HAY, Muuto and Herman Miller. “In four years, we’ve worked on more showrooms than Knoll had done in 20 years,” said Jonathan Olivares, who has served as the SVP of design at Knoll – another of the Miller Knoll brands – since 2022.
Now, they can call Clerkenwell their London home, as they open the doors to a permanent location inside a 1960s modernist building named “The Sans”. Spanning three floors, the location features seperate showrooms and retail spaces from Knoll, Herman Miller, and Maharam. Views of the historical St Johns Gate are visible from the huge windows, which flood the space with natural light.
“This is truly an exciting milestone for our collective,” Andi Owen, CEO of MillerKnoll said. “We’re thrilled to showcase the full breadth of our design portfolio in such [a] creative and innovative location in London.” A huge selling point of the new location, Owen says, is its proximity to the other standalone stores of the MillerKnoll brands. “We’re taking the approach of locating brands next to each other based on feedback from design partners, dealers and customers. We look forward to the collaboration these spaces will facilitate as we continue to redefine modern design,” she adds.
For the opening, MillerKnoll took the opportunity to showcase new products, as well as pieces they have recently reissued – from the Luva sofa by Gabriel Tan, to the iconic Tugendhat Chair. Spaces in the contract areas are designed with the London customer in mind – think space-saving solutions and open-plan schemes.
The retail spaces are now open to the public, and will be activated during the upcoming London Design Festival. Find out more about opening times here.
