Loro Piana’s SS25 Collection Is an Ode to the Complexity of Linen
Continuing to celebrate its 100th anniversary through savoir-faire.
This year, Loro Piana has been commemorating its century-long legacy through a contemporary reimagination of its classic silhouettes, material blends, and craftsmanship techniques in various collections. As it builds on this heritage focus, the luxury Italian maison unveils a plush and textural Spring/Summer 2025 range where one particular material plays the starring role: linen.
A seasonal favorite in Loro Piana’s portfolio, linen has widely contributed to its renowned reputation in fine fabrics. Having acquired the heritage textile maison Solbiati ten years ago, it continues to innovate through new ways of manipulating and refashioning the material for modern-day wardrobes. As seen in this season’s collection, its latest experimentations come into play in a number of garments where it is blended with other heirloom fibers for textural complexity.
Both clean-cut and contemporary, the iconic Spagna jacket characterizes the collection with a heavy, tweed-like weave dressing the collarless silhouette. When paired with the matching linen overcoat and trousers as well as the chambray shirt, the brown hues come together to give softness to the tailored lines, allowing wearability in a variety of settings. Similarly, a knitted blazer and a selection of cardigans enter the collection with a unique cashmere-linen blend.
Alongside the neutrality of the aforementioned pieces, Loro Piana introduces pops of yellow and red on suede bombers and a nautical anorak which cut through the aesthetics with dimension and colorful impact. A classic summer denim look comprised of Bermuda shorts and a workwear-inspired shirt also makes an appearance in the sleek summer collection.
Giving wearers the option to elevate their looks with a casual or smarter edge, a range of felt fedoras, knitted beanies, and linen bags are offered up in the accessories section while leather sandals, loafers and lace-ups round off the range with a gentleman flair.
Loro Piana is now showcasing the SS25 offering during Milan Fashion Week. At Palazzo Belgioioso, a special installation titled “All About Linen” places the garments in a linen-cloaked room featuring large tapestries and smaller artworks by Adriana Meunié as well as a display of the world’s finest linen blend: Nm110. Fans also have the chance to stop by the maison’s returning Via Dei Giardini newsstand with gifts and sweet treats inspired by this season’s dedicated fabric.
