Kendrick Lamar has officially dropped a new track on his Instagram, reportedly titled, “Watch the Party Die.”

The five-minute song is the first he has debuted since “Not Like Us” and comes shortly after his recently Super Bowl Halftime Show headliner announcement. In the days following the news, rap fans have been divided with the choice of Kendrick performing with some arguing that Lil Wayne should have been chosen since he is from New Orleans, this season’s Super Bowl location. Stars like Nicki Minaj went to bat for Weezy, commenting on his superior influence. Others defended Kendrick stating that his successful year and renowned reputation as a Pulitzer Prize winning lyricist makes him a perfect fit for the show. Polarizing the internet, the Halftime Show announcement has sparked debate across fan bases.

Posting to Instagram over a single photo of a pair of black Air Force 1s, fans seem believe that the Drake beef is not yet over. Kendrick raps, “Just walked that man down, that’ll do everyone a solid / It’s love but tough love, sometimes you gotta result in violence.” As for the cover art of a pair of old beaten-up AF1s, fans think it is a reference to Drake’s “Push Ups” track that made fun of Kendrick’s shoe size. Kendrick can be heard referencing Terrace Martin, Christian rapper Lecra, as well as a nod to DJ Akademiks, “The radio personality pushing propaganda for salary / Let me know when they turn up as a casualty.”
