W Hotels’ latest cultural initiative, W PRESENTS, is heading on a multi-destination tour this year. Having already hosted a series of successful live music events in the U.S. last summer, the upcoming global fixture will touch base in Europe and Dubai and will continue to use the hotel’s signature format where, for one night only, its lobbies, courtyards, and outdoor spaces become a stage for local DJs.

Cementing itself in the world of music has been at the forefront of W Hotels’ mission over the past few years. Through its state-of-the-art recording studio “Sound Suites” and music label, it aims to merge the luxury hotel experience with the creative landscape outside its doors to celebrate music and become, what it regards itself as a discerning arbiter of new sounds. Now, as the brand plans a global transformation, it spotlights its hotels as a go-to cultural hub where music is cultivated and creativity is fostered in line with the local scene.

With the recently launched W PRESENTS initiative, the lifestyle hotel takes its ethos one step further, platforming both emerging and established electronic music talent in dedicated events. Reaching the next generation of luxury travelers with these definitive selectors, the experiences showcasing and supporting artists not only represent its commitment to setting new standards within the industry but also continue to serve as a connector of culture for guests around the world.

As it embarks on the respective world tour, W Hotels reunites with DJ and producer LP Giobbi to curate the scheduled line-up in a similar style to the previous U.S. showcases. Speaking on her approach to curation, she says, “W PRESENTS is a celebration of musical diversity, designed to transport our guests through experiential journeys that are authentic to the locale. This series blends local talent with international artists to celebrate the universal language of music.”

For the first leg of the multi-stop tour, LP Giobbi enlisted GPU Panic and Moullinex to perform in the brand’s beachside escape destination in the W Algarve, Portugal. In keeping with the location, the Portuguese DJs spun a selection of deep electro tracks in front of the picturesque sunset. For the next stops, W Hotels has carefully scheduled its events to align with respective citywide festivities as it aims to play a part in the local cultural community. In time for the annual Fringe Festival, it will welcome Elkka in W Edinburgh, while the W Budapest event with Bora Uzer will take place shortly after the city’s fashion week, followed by an event at W London with Girls of the Internet in October. Rounding off the series will be a special night in New York later this November.

W PRESENTS will take place in W Edinburgh on August 22, W Budapest on September 5 and, W London on October 4 while a date for W Dubai Mina-Seyahi is yet to be announced. Stay tuned as Hypebeast explores the series further this year.
