Britney Spears Biopic in the Works With Director Jon M. Chu
Universal Pictures recently acquired the rights to Spears’ memoir, ‘The Woman in Me.’
A biopic about Britney Spears is officially in the works over at Universal Pictures.
According to Variety, the upcoming film will be helmed by Wicked director Jon M. Chu and produced by Marc Platt. Spears herself teased the “secret project” on X and confirmed the involvement of Platt, writing that he’s “always made my favorite movies.” Additional details, such as who will portray the artist, are unconfirmed as of writing.
Universal Pictures acquired the rights to the popstar’s The Woman in Me memoir from October 2023, which chronicled both Spears’ personal and professional life, starting from her days as a member of the Mickey Mouse Club to her intimate and familial relationships, conservatorship case and musical legacy.
