Watch the Eerie Story Trailer for the Remake of 2001’s ‘Silent Hill 2’
The revamped game launches for PlayStation 5 and PC on October 8.
Konami has shared the story trailer for its remake of Silent Hill 2. Originally released in 2001 as the second installment in the horror anthology, the game centers on a man named James searching for his late wife.
The game launched initially for the PlayStation 2 before being expanded to Xbox later that year. Since then, Silent Hill has grown to nine installments in the mainline series.
“Having received a letter from his deceased wife, James heads to where they shared so many memories, in the hope of seeing her one more time: Silent Hill. There, by the lake, he finds a woman eerily similar to her…
“My name…is Maria,” the woman smiles. Her face, her voice… She’s just like her,” the game’s description reads.
The trailer previews the game’s advanced graphics as James explores various locations around the town, from underground tunnels to homes, searching for clues that will tell him more about the mysterious woman.
The first Silent Hill installment was remade in 2009 as Silent Hill: Shattered Memories.
Silent Hill 2 will be released for PlayStation 5 and PC on October 8.
