NTT sonority, a subsidiary of NTT, the Japanese global technology innovator, has unveiled the next-generation nwm ONE headphone. The Open-Ear Headphones deliver a revolutionary audio experience that welcomes music lovers to connect with their natural environments with the same verve awarded to their playlists. The unorthodox product aims to create a sense of immersion, where the hustle and bustle of the outside world coexist with the listener.
Ordinary sound-canceling headphones ensure an uninterrupted listening experience but are also seemingly hazardous when navigating busy city streets. nwm ONE’s Open-Ear design welcomes the music of nature, meaning ambient noises, like tweeting birds, are in hearing range. Fret not — your favorite tracks and podcasts remain the center of attention since the headphones feature 2-way drivers: the largest measuring 35mm, followed by a smaller 12mm driver. Together, they target high and low sound frequencies while utilizing NTT’s proprietary Personalized Sound Zone (PSZ) technology to suppress sound leakage. Peripheral sounds are audible, yet you reap the benefits of a private listening session with high-quality audio that packs a punch.
The Personalized Sound Zone (PSZ) technology precisely retains sound within the ear by detecting ambient noise and emitting counteractive sound waves, effectively minimizing sound leakage while maintaining an Open-Ear design. Meanwhile, Magic Focus Voice technology employs advanced “Beamforming” to accurately capture the user’s voice, while “Spectral Filtering” eliminates surrounding noise, ensuring clear and uninterrupted communication. Both technologies were painstakingly researched and developed in-house by the NTT Computer & Data Science Laboratories.
