Nike has opened the floodgates lately, dropping one coveted grail after another for collectors to finally obtain (or replace their aged pairs with). The latest design to be making a return is 2004’s “Silver Surfer” colorway of the Dunk Low. One of many Marvel-themed pairs to release in an unofficial capacity back then, the re-release follows KITH and ASICS’ team-up with the franchise, which notably included a “Silver Surfer” rendition of the GEL-KAYANO 14.
For this reissue, Nike has stuck to the original design, including its mixed material upper and silver, blue and red color composition. However, the sockliner’s thematic graphic has noticeably been replaced by standard Nike branding. The upper sees a shimmering textile base joined by similarly-bright overlays while the aforementioned inclusion of blue lands at the Swooshes and tongue branding. Red serves as the base color of both the tongue tag and heel tab while white enters the mix at the midsole and gray covers the outsole.
At the time of writing, Nike has not yet confirmed when the “Silver Surfer” colorway of the Dunk Low will be making its grand return. That being said, it is currently expected to drop via Nike SNKRS and select retailers on September 5 at a price of $125 USD. Stay tuned as we await official confirmation from the Swoosh.
