Netflix Drops Teaser Trailer for 'Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft'
Introducing audiences to Hayley Atwell’s animated iconic, bad ass archeologist.
Lara Croft is back and its coming to Netflix in the form of an animated series. After dropping a first look at Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft last year, Netflix has finally dropped the first teaser trailer which sees Hayley Atwell voice the titular archeologist set in the iconic video game franchise’s universe.
The events of the animated series arrives after the events of the Tomb Raider video game Survivor trilogy that sees the heroine enter her new chapter of globetrotting and ancient ruins explorations. The show’s synopsis reads, “Following the events of the Survivor series, Lara Croft has abandoned her friends to embark on increasingly more perilous solo adventures. But she must return home when a dangerous and powerful Chinese artifact is stolen from Croft Manor by a thief with an uncanny personal connection. Her daring pursuit will take her on an adventure around the world and to the depths of forgotten tombs, where she will be forced to confront her true self, and decide just what kind of hero she wants to become.”
Alongside Atwell voicing Lara Croft, Allen Maldonado voice Zip and Earl Baylon reprises his role to voice Jonah from the video game. The game’s franchise film initially starred Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft before Alicia Vikander played the role. The animated series hits Netflix on October 10.
