The experimental fashion label dreams up ultra-sized coats, puffed-up hats, mega gloves and more — all inspired by a a single drop of rain.

Innovative fashion label YUME YUME often takes a surrealist approach to design; in fact, the brand itself states that its creations are for the “dream builders.” So, when the imprint states that its fantastical Fall/Winter 2024 line is inspired by the rain and its “ability to create life,” it comes as no shock that the result is quite experimental.

“The brand’s collection notes wax poetic on the line’s central theme: “Having a moment of epiphany — seeing a single drop running down the window that has been on earth long before we existed. Changing its form constantly. Being a small part of a bigger whole.”

In practice, this simple mood board manifests across a versatile range of blown-up, puffed-up and ultra-protective silhouettes. Among them, ballooning skirts appear in both mini and long finishes; oversized tuxedos employ both black silk and wool, and cropped coats are made from the label’s signature vegan leather. Puffy hoods, meanwhile, shield their wearers from harsh weather with youthful personas, and mega gloves become statement pieces when worn over the sleeves of coats.

Heralded for its distinct footwear catalog, YUME YUME introduces three new silhouettes for the upcoming season. Two ballerina-inspired shapes — a zeitgeist-captivating flat and a sheer boot — join a bulky clog, rounding out the highlights.
