Julian Casablancas and The Voidz to Reunite for First LP in 6 Years
The band’s third album ‘Like All Before You’ arrives this September.
Julian Casablancas’ band The Voidz will be releasing its first album in six years. While Casablancas is largely known for being the lead singer of The Strokes, he formed The Voidz a little over a decade ago with Jeff Kite, Alex Carapetis and Jake Bercovici.
Kite and Carapetis had worked with Casablancas as the backing band for his first solo tour years prior, while Bercovici had joined the three to help make a backtrack for an advertising campaign the singer had starred in. The Voidz’s debut LP Tyranny released in 2014, followed by their sophomore effort Virtue in 2018.
The band’s third album is called Like All Before You and is slated to drop on September 20. The project was recorded between The Voidz’s home studio in Venice, California and at Vox Studios in Los Angeles.
Like All Before You spans 10 tracks, including the previously released songs “Prophecy Of The Dragon,” “Flexorcist” and more. The band also put out a new single entitled “Overture.”
Following the release of the album, The Voidz will perform two concerts in October – one in Los Angeles and another in Harlem. Tickets for both go on sale on Friday, July 12.
