Spinnaker Unveils a ‘SpongeBob SquarePants’ 25th Anniversary Limited Edition Watch Collection
Starring Spongebob, Patrick, Squidward and Mr. Krabs as the watch faces.
In celebrating the 25th anniversary of Nickelodeon’s popular animated series, SpongeBob SquarePants, British watch brand Spinnaker has unveiled a limited-edition watch collection that taps into nautical nostalgia.
Starring Spongebob, Patrick, Squidward and Mr. Krabs as the watch faces, the collection of references is all based on Spinnaker’s Hass Automatic model. Each dial variant boasts its respective character’s distinct color schemes: yellow and aqua for Spongebob, pink and purple for Patrick, mint green and brown for Squidward and a pink and light blue combo for Mr. Krabs.
The dials come in a multi-layered construction and are implemented with luminous accents that are integrated into the character’s features, indices and numbering. A Spongebob quote is also imprinted on the inner bezel, reading, “You never really know the true value of a moment until it becomes a memory.”
Measuring 43mm in case width, all options are fitted with a two-tone unidirectional turning bezel. The case, crafted from marine-grade 316L stainless steel is capable of withstanding 30 ATM underwater — a fitting specification for its nautical cartoon inspiration. SpongeBob SquarePants and Spinnaker’s logos are inscribed on the steel caseback as proof of its collaborative status.
All variants of the SP-5138 Hass Automatic Spongebob Squarepants 25th Limited Edition arrive with a stainless steel bracelet and a complementary two-tone rubber strap, all encased in a yellow equipment hard case featuring all-over SpongeBob SquarePants graphics. Retailing for $445 USD, the collection will be available to shop through Spinnaker’s official webstore starting July 26.
