Paul Smith and Artek Unveil 70s-Inspired Furniture Collection
Including celebrated pieces like the Stool 60, Screen 100 and Coat Rack 109.
Paul Smith and Finnish furniture maker Artek have announced their latest collaboration, “Artek Reimagined by Paul Smith,” blending iconic design with a subtle 70s aesthetic. This collection taps three notable Artek pieces: Stool 60, Screen 100 and Coat Rack 109, each crafted in Finland.
The collaboration showcases Sir Paul Smith’s signature playful color palette and stripes, adding a fresh twist to Artek’s timeless designs. Notably, the Stool 60 features vibrant poppy hues and subtle wood stains on its seat and legs, with a striking ultramarine blue underside.
As for the Screen 100, it’s constructed from narrow pine slats and incorporates shades that reference Paul Smith’s distinctive stripe pattern, resulting in a subdued 70s finish. Coat Rack 109, inspired by steam train luggage racks, completes the collection with matching colors and an ergonomic design.
The ”Artek Reimagined by Paul Smith” collection is expected to launch via Paul Smith’s official site and shops starting September 12 — with pricing yet to be announced at the time of writing.
