Just last month, the Japanese label Mountain Research geared up for the summer with its new “Little Summer Camp” capsule. Geared towards those hot moments outside, the presented navy garment-dyed pieces including a tee and matching shorts in collaboration with MINE USA. Now the brand is moving forward with its new full collection.

Aside from being a full range, what stands out about the new collection it is the first from Mountain Research’s new design lead, Abe Masahiro. When Kobayashi Setsumasa started Mountain Research in 2006, the creative served as its sole design lead. But even in his creative leadership, Abe Masahiro served as Setsumasa’s design assistant for decades. Alongside Masahiro stepping into the driver’s seat, the label has rebranded as “Mountain Research by A.M.” However, the A.M. stands for “Anarcho Mountaineers,” not Masahiro’s initials.

Titled “WAITING FOR THE SUN,” the new collection extends the brand’s reach into outdoor/hiking-appropriate apparel. Fit for the cooler moments ascending the mountain or on the street, the collection tosses up a range of outerwear, knitwear, fleece garments, tees and more. Of course, outerwear leads the charge with garments like technical overalls, a cargo jacket and a flag-printed poncho serve as key pieces.

Take a look at the new collection in the gallery above, which is set to launch on Friday, July 26 online.
