Marking the first release of the GEL-LYTE III’s 35th-anniversary celebration project, ASICS has enlisted Hideyuki Kunii, the creative director of mita sneakers and Herringbone Footwear, to create a bold new color variant for the ASICS GEL-LYTE 3 OG.

The “TRICO 2024” follows a tricolor theme, centering on white, blue and red. The majority of the upper boasts a leather build in a crisp white, while a mesh insert peeks through ASICS stripes on the sides. Meanwhile, the toebox area comes in a suede fabrication and is dipped in sky blue, creating a stark contrast to the rest of the shoe. This hue also extends to the outsoles but is limited to the top area.

The tongue and collar arrive with grid-like stitching, offering a subtle textural contrast. Underneath the white laces, a black zipper is integrated onto the tongue, boasting a distinct look and a slip-on fit. The inside of the show features a patterned imprint reminiscent of diamond wire mesh fencing, adding another unique feature to the model.

The heel is lightly finished with a red pull-tab, while the “GEL-LYTE II” embroidery can be found on the sneaker’s lateral heels in a golden hue. On the bottom of the shoe, the words “FAR EAST” can be spotted peeking through its translucent outsoles

Starting July 27, the ASICS GEL-LYTE 3 OG “TRICO 2024” will be available through mita sneakers and directly managed ASICS stores in Japan. From July 29 onwards, the sneaker will also be stocked across both brand’s online stores.
