The Third Time Is the 'Charm' for Clairo
The third studio LP from the songstress has surfaced.
Clairo is proving the age-old saying “the third time’s the charm” with her aptly entitled third studio LP. Charm is here at last, and the world she’s built on the project is just as dreamy as the singles promised.
The 11-track offering feels like a classic Claire Cottrill delivery, as she continues to lean the fanciful soft-rock formula she’s mastered over the course of discography. Pre-released singles “Sexy to Someone” and “Nomad” land at the top of the album, introducing the whimsical and almost wanderlust tone of the record.
After joining forces with Rostam Batmanglij on her acclaimed debut Immunity and then Jack Antonoff on her sophomore Sling, the songstress enlisted Leon Michels of El Michels Affair to produce Charm. The duo’s sonic compatibility shines through the 38-minute album, especially evident on transporting tracks like “Terrapin” and the impressive instrumentals scattered about “Slow Dance.”
