Sebastian Stan Unravels in Trailer for A24’s Psychological Thriller ‘A Different Man’
Starring alongside Adam Pearson and Renate Reinsve.
The first trailer is out for A24’s psychological thriller A Different Man, starring Sebastian Stan as a man who undergoes extreme reconstructive surgery to change his face.
Stan dons prosthetic makeup to portray Edward, an aspiring actor with neurofibromatosis, a condition that causes benign tumors to grow on nerve tissue. The makeup was based on Adam Pearson, a real-life actor with neurofibromatosis.
Pearson plays Oswald, a man who is starring in a play based on Edward’s life. While Edward is praised for his looks post-surgery, he becomes obsessed with Oswald and the role he was born to play.
A Different Man was written and directed by Aaron Schimberg and also stars Renate Reinsve. The film premiered at Sundance Film Festival in January and went on to win Stan the best actor award at the Berlin Film Festival.
