Furlan Marri’s Disco Volante Watch Line Blends Art Deco Aesthetics With ‘80s Flair
Arriving in three color editions.
Independent Swiss watch brand Furlan Marri has introduced its Disco Volante series, a new permanent watch line offering vintage classic timepieces with a modern twist.
In marking the line’s inauguration, a trio of references are revealed: Disco Celeste, Disco Verde and Havana Disco. All three timepieces feature an elegant 38mm case size with a thickness of 8.95mm. In terms of design, the watches exude an Art Deco vibe that’s imbued with an ’80s touch. The name of the series borrows from the Italian words for “flying saucer” — a reference to its circular watch case that adds to the collection’s eccentric spirit.
Disco Celeste stars a blue and white dial that strikingly lights up in BGW9 Super-LumiNova in low light. Dressed in green and cream, the Disco Verde version exudes an air of classic elegance with Old Radium Super-LumiNova inserts that enhance its retro appeal. As for the Havana Disco, the timepiece sports a gentle salmon color, offset with brown details.
At the heart of the new watches is the Peseux 7001, an ultra-thin and reliable manual-winding movement that is the crown jewel of Swiss Manufacture, Fabrique d’ébauches de Peseux SA. The caliber has a history that traces back to the 1950s and has since been adapted and refined to suit modern horological needs. It boasts a 42-hour power reserve, beating at a frequency of 21,600 vph and 5 ATM water resistance that’s ensured by its sapphire crystal caseback.
All variants of the Disco Volante timepieces are accompanied by vegetable-tanned Italian leather straps in hues that complement their respective dials. Priced at $2,780 USD, the watches are available to shop through Furlan Marri’s website.
