Advisory Board Crystals x Merrell Hydro Moc Releases This Week
Merging outdoor functionality with summer essentials.
After co-signs from Dime and Nicole McLaughlin, Merrell is teaming up with Advisory Board Crystals on a pair of Hydro Mocs.
Merging outdoor functionality with modern style, the collaboration focuses on the the lifestyle aspect as well. With understated features like a magnetic enclosure strap as well as co-branded labels like the “ABC” tag in white on the lateral side, complement the oversized pull tabs. Utilizing earthy tones, the shoe’s aesthetic is comprised of a marbled tan pattern to evoke the natural feel. The shoe is constructed out of Bloom Performance Foam and is 100% vegan, an aspect that aligns with both ABC’s and Merrell’s sustainability goals.
“The Hydro Moc has always been one of our favorite Merrell models we wanted our first project to be our rendition of the original Moc,” said Advisory Board Crystals designers Remington Guest and Heather Haber. “It’s appealing due to its versatility. To us, it’s the first foam shoe, before the hype around foam shoes. We like that it’s a functional shoe but can also be worn anywhere.”
“Aesthetically, it feels futuristic while also in a way vintage which is the ideal intersection of what we always want Abc. to feel like.”
