Take a First Look at the Wales Bonner x adidas Samba Millennium
The English designer offered her take on the classic sneaker, along with two pairs of the SL72.
Grace Wales Bonner and adidas is a continuously evolving partnership. In January, the designer and brand returned for their first collaboration of the year during her Fall/Winter 2024 runway, which features a crocodile-embossed Superstar shoe and nylon jerseys featuring the adidas trefoil.
Ahead of releasing their new collection, the first images of another Wales Bonner x adidas sneaker are out. For Spring/Summer 2024, the designer has reimagined the adidas Samba Millennium.
A fresh take on the Samba, the Millennium first drops in the early 2000s. Wales Bonner’s version subtly hides the Three Stripes within the beige monochromatic leather upper.
The back end of the Wales Bonner x adidas Samba Millennium uses a darker camel shade for a bit of contrast and a smoother look compared to the lines of the front.
Only photos of the Samba Millennium are out right now, though Wales Bonner also created two new editions of the SL72. The Wales Bonner x adidas Samba Millennium is priced at $250 USD and will drop on May 20.
